Amenities

We want you to feel comfortable and at home while staying with us. That is why we have furnished our lobby and library to look and feel like a living room. Here you are welcome to relax, work or just hang out, while having coffee or tea or order a nice meal with drinks from our restaurant Statt Verandan and from our Champagne and Cocktail bar.

Calmar Stadshotell provides a mix of a classic and historical city hotel atmosphere in combination with a bright and more modern winter garden, creating a nice surrounding while enjoying your breakfast, dinner, drinks at the bar or  while relaxing with a cup of coffee. Free Wi-Fi is available should you want to combine pleasure with work.

Parking

There is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel, with an additional cost of SEK 195 per night. You reserve and pay for your parking when checking in at the hotel, and will receive a map that shows the way to the garage. There is also plenty of parking outside the hotel, along the streets, where it is free to park between 6:00 pm and 9:00 am. Approx. 300 meters from the hotel you will find a long-term parking as well.

Check-in and check-out

You are welcome to check-in after 3:00 pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is before 12:00 o’clock at noon on the day of departure.

The reception

Our front desk is open around the clock. A warm welcome if you have any questions or need help with anything! We have laundry service (costs extra), and should you have to leave early in the morning you can order a wake-up call, a breakfast to go or an early breakfast.

Iron and iron board is available to borrow, plus we also have an ironing room at floor 7.

Restaurant and bar

Restaurant Statt Verandan is the meeting place for those of you that are planning an enjoyable evening with a nice dinner. During summer, you are welcome to wine and dine on our terrace under the open sky – we cannot guarantee good weather, but a lovely dinner!

Between Monday and Saturday, you can order from our à la carte menu, and our drink menu offers something that goes well with your meal, plus tasty cocktails, bubbly, beer and wine from our cozy Champagne and Cocktail bar.

Next door to our hotel you will find our bar Pipes of Scotland, a well-stocked pub menu along with a wide selection of beers, cider, wine, whiskey and more.

We also have a smaller kiosk in our reception, on the ground floor for snacks and soft drinks etc. And you are welcome to buy a coffee / tea with sweets in our cozy lobbybar all hours.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served weekdays between 6:30 and 9:30 am, and weekends between 7:30 and 11:00 am.

Fitness

While staying with us you are welcome to the gym Wellness Studio, approx. 200 meters from the hotel. For SEK 70 per training session, we will give you a passage tag for training in a well-equipped gym plus access to join the gym’s group sessions. It is not required to book anything in advance.

The passage tag will give you access to the gym between 5:00 am and 12 o’clock at midnight. You will find more info about the gym, plus the schedule for group sessions on wellnesstudio.se

Activities and attractions

Our nice location in the city center of Kalmar will provide you with opportunities for good shopping and attractions just stepping outside the hotel door. During summer, you will find a nice beach only a 100 meters away.

Next door to us is Kalmar Cathedral, one of Kalmar’s most visited tourist attractions, and the popular island and holiday resort Öland is only 4 km away.

We also recommend a stroll through our beautiful City Park, to the castle of Kalmar and onwards to the old quarters of Kalmar’s Old Town – a distance of about 1000 meters. Kalmar Länsmuseum is also within a walking distance of the hotel, with many exhibits – both the permanent Kronan (the Crown) exhibition and temporary exhibitions.
