Paris. 1967. The calf slaughter is just over and the kitchen is scrubbed down. The cook brigade, who after breakfast get together as they usually do every evening after dinner in a simple restaurant with just one dish on the menu – as simple as its name: L’Entrecôte. A place where everyone can take a break, eat well and talk loudly. A family feel.

With French pride and simplicity as its backbone. A place where every detail, from the menu to the room, breathes tradition. Everyone drinks from the same type of glass, everyone is the same, everyone sits at the same table.

A tribute to L’Entrecôte

Behind La Gare’s signature dish is a clear imprint: Relais de l’Entrecôte, the iconic Parisian restaurant that built its entire concept on a single dish. Entrecôte, served with sauce, crispy fries and a simple green salad. No choice, no frills, just quality, craftsmanship and a confident belief that simplicity can be the greatest.

La Gare carries on this tradition with reverence and curiosity. Our interpretation is a loving nod to the original, letting the dish speak for itself. It’s a tribute to the kind of restaurant where you stay a little longer, share the meal and let the evening take its time, just like in the Parisian bistros where it all began.

Central location in three cities

La Gare means “train station” in French, and the name reflects our whole soul: a place in motion, where people meet, stop and share a moment together. Our restaurants are located right where the action is – in Stockholm at the Central Station, in Malmö near Malmö C and the canal, and in Jönköping, right by Resecentrum and Lake Vättern.

Here, French elegance and Swedish presence meet in a warm environment with timeless flavors, continental bar life and genuine care. The menu bears rustic French influences, combined with Swedish ingredients and modern expressions. A modest crib that serves well-prepared classics – and a dessert list that dares to take its place.
