When you book a hotel on ligula.se, you do more than book an overnight stay – you help us to help. Through our charity Ligula Foundation, we support organizations that work for the safety of children and the future of animals, both in Sweden and around the world.
Every time you book a hotel room through ligula.se, you help make a difference. For each booking, we donate 10 SEK directly to the Ligula Foundation – money that goes to organizations working to benefit children and animals. During 2025, we will distribute 1,495,000 SEK.
Ligula Foundation was founded in 2017 by the Löffler family and Ligula Hospitality Group with a clear driving force – to make a real difference. Every year, we review where help is most needed and select organizations that make concrete efforts, whether it is war-affected children in Ukraine or biodiversity in Sweden.
We have a special place in our hearts for children and animals – two groups that are crucial to a sustainable future. Among other things, we support an orphanage in Thailand with food, clothing and schooling, and are a gold sponsor of the endangered wolverine through Nordens Ark.
In 2024, the Ligula Foundation awarded more than SEK 1,250,000 to various organizations working for the benefit of children and animals. Among the recipients were SOS Children’s Villages, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation and Nordens Ark, all of which make invaluable contributions to creating a better future for vulnerable children and protecting endangered species.
In 2023, we distributed a total of SEK 913,500, and in 2022 just over SEK 1 million, of which SEK 300,000 went to the UNHCR for their efforts for children in war-torn Ukraine.
The Foundation’s work is funded by grants and donations from the Ligula Hospitality Group businesses – largely from the SEK 10 per booking generated via ligula.se – and by a basic contribution from the Löffler family.
