Ligula Foundation visits the orphanage in Thailand

Ligula Foundation’s Vice Chairman, Elisabeth Löffler, recently visited the orphanage in the village of Padeng, Thailand. During the trip, she also met several of the students who, over the years, have been given the opportunity to pursue further studies thanks to the foundation’s support.

Since 2013, Ligula Foundation has supported the orphanage in Padeng, located approximately one hour outside Hua Hin towards the Myanmar border. Today, the orphanage is home to around 20 children and is operated with great dedication.

In addition to contributing to the orphanage’s daily operations, the foundation also supports the children’s education. Over the years, several young people have been able to pursue university studies thanks to this support.

Three of the students have now completed their studies – Joy, Kan, and Da. Joy and Kan earned their university degrees in Chiang Mai, and Da, who studied landscape architecture outside Bangkok, recently graduated and has secured employment in Chiang Mai.

The foundation’s fourth student will also graduate soon. Kittiphon is studying to become a teacher in Chiang Mai and is approaching the end of his education, with the final tests remaining to obtain his teaching license. Nono is also studying in Chiang Mai and is now beginning his third year.

Two students are studying in Phetchaburi, approximately one hour north of Hua Hin. Max is training to be an electrician and Thomas to be a technician.

In Chiang Mai, Elisabeth met several of the students, who spoke about their studies and their plans for the future. There was great gratitude for the support provided by the foundation.

One of the most recent graduates expressed it as follows:

“Thank you for always supporting me from the very beginning until today. I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for me.”

Below you can see some photos from Elisabeth’s visit.
