Located in the historic ProfilHotels Copenhagen Plaza, The Library Bar is an atmospheric gem with paneled walls, Chesterfield armchairs and walls filled with leather-bound books and first editions. Here you’ll experience the atmosphere of a bygone era, combined with some of Copenhagen’s best cocktails.
Cocktails, charm and jazz tones
Since the 70s, the bar has been known for its love of champagne, cognac, whisky – and today especially for its sophisticated cocktails. Before The Library Bar went smoke-free in 2007, it was known as the best cigar lounge in Copenhagen. Music plays an important role and jazz often fills the room with warm tones – you are also guaranteed live jazz every Friday and Saturday. The famous album “At the Plaza – The Library Bar Concerts” was recorded here by Ginman – Blachman – Dahl, as the first Danish release on the legendary jazz label “Verve”. On the bar’s “Wall of Fame” you can also delve into stories about the jetsetters of the past and their extravagant parties. The noble gentlemen in the paintings on the walls, however, are content to watch the atmosphere – and your drinks.
Reservation
The bar is small and popular – we recommend booking a table for parties of 8 people or more. If you want to rent the bar for private events, photo shoots or recordings, this can be done outside opening hours. Read more under “Rent the bar”.
