Historic hotel in the center of Kalmar

ProfilHotels Calmar Stadshotell is located in the center of Stortorget in Kalmar, surrounded by shopping, restaurants and attractions.

The hotel has a rich history spanning more than 200 years, and the historic atmosphere still lives on in our surroundings. Today we are a modern hotel in central Kalmar – where historic charm meets our guests in a personal and relaxing environment.

Food and drink

Enjoy lunch, dinner, or a delicious drink at Restaurang Statt Verandan, where à la carte and seasonal menus are served year-round, and during the summer also on our sunny outdoor terrace. Please note that Restaurang Statt is temporarily closed from January 1st to February 28th, 2026, as we are renovating our kitchen.

Adjacent to the hotel is our Scottish-inspired pub, Pipes of Scotland, offering after-work gatherings, pub fare, and a wide selection of beers, wines, and whiskies.

Santai Spa

Welcome to Santai Spa & Relax – a tranquil oasis with saunas, hot tubs, treatments and a relaxation lounge. There are several spa packages to choose from, both with and without an overnight stay.

Get to know us…

For over two hundred years, Calmar Stadshotell has welcomed guests, celebrated life’s great moments and been an important part of Kalmar’s history.

As early as the 1600s, there was an apothecary’s residence here where Carl von Linné stayed overnight during his journey through Kalmar. Since then, the location has evolved from an inn to the city’s society house and further to the City Hotel that has stood here since 1906 – designed with inspiration from Renaissance castles.

Today, Calmar Stadshotell is a modern hotel with a historic soul. Here you will find the magnificent banquet hall with space for over 200 people, our popular pub Pipes of Scotland, and since 2023 we also offer Santai Spa, a peaceful oasis with saunas, hot tubs and relaxation in a harmonious environment.
